Has implemented Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management to provide a centralized, meter data management system and support the company’s deployment of smart meters as part of its advanced metering infrastructure.
Elster has been awarded a contract from Metrix for a full-scale deployment of its EnergyAxis System in Auckland, New Zealand. The system will feature 300,000 REX smart meters built on a new meter platform conforming to IEC standards. Metrix will use the EnergyAxis System to collect interval usage data daily across its entire smart meter population allowing it to offer value-added services to retail electric providers and consumers. In the future, retail electricity providers may use the interval metering data to offer flexible rate plans and empower consumer-driven energy conservation.
