Halton Hills Hydro’s Smart Meter Project is an initiative to provide customers with the information and tools to make wise energy choices. It is part of the Province of Ontario Smart Meter Initiative to install smart meters on every home and small business in the province by the end of 2010. Ontario must rebuild, replace or refurbish nearly 80% of its generation capacity over the next 25 years. Promoting energy conservation through smart meterng and time of use billing is a significant part of this strategy.
